Day 1
Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

Today is a beautiful day as you will be exploring southern Tanzania, one of the reputable areas with untouched wildlife. The program begins with a nice hotel breakfast, followed by a drive to Mikumi with packed lunch boxes. Enjoy en-route attractions on your way to the park, and you’ll most likely arrive in the afternoon. Mikumi offers well-defined picnic sites where you will enjoy your lunch before embarking on a game drive.

Mikumi is one of Tanzania’s largest parks, with a diversity of species. The park is located between the Uluguru and Lumango Ranges. During the game drive you may see animals including elephants, giraffes, buffalo, Burchell’s zebra, sable, eland, Liechtenstein’s hartebeest, lion, leopard, spotted hyena, and jackal. After all the experiences you will be driven to a lodge in Mikumi National Park for dinner and a stay.

Day 2
Mikumi to Ruaha National Park

After a delicious breakfast, we proceed to the Ruaha National Park with your packed lunch boxes. The park has an area of approximately 20,226 square kilometers and is Tanzania’s second-largest national park after Nyerere National Park. The park was named after the large Ruaha River, which flows through the park’s southeastern region.

In addition to being exciting, you will have the opportunity to observe numerous creatures and capture amazing images to remember. The park is home to a large number of animal and bird species. If you have time, you can go on an afternoon game drive followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3
Ruaha National Park

Enjoy two days of the game- drive in Ruaha National park and explore nature, wildlife, birds, and all the best experiences. Ruaha is so big it may need 2 full days to enjoy and have blissful memories of the park. Following a delectable breakfast in your lodge, your guide will pick you up with our packed lunch boxes and begin your day’s activities.

The park is noted for its elephant numbers, enormous herds of buffalo, and lion pride, and it has a high density of animals. In the afternoon, you’ll pause for lunch and some rest before carrying on with your game drive. During the game drive, you will be able to stop over for a successful snap-taking of the best spotting of resident animals which are more often glimpsed and unable to hide in the sun-withered bush during the dry season as the heat is less severe and a lot of dust is kicked up around the park.  Leopards can also be seen, especially when they are resting in the trees.

Walking safaris, which are thrilling experiences, are also available in Ruaha. These are typically completed first thing in the morning when the temperature is cool and conditions are ideal. The park is home to many more predators, so keep a lookout for lion pride and lone leopards. The park also has Africa’s greatest population of wild dogs! If you get the chance to visit, pay great attention to their behavior and interaction because they are just amazing. After the day’s activities, your guide will transport you to a lodge for a delectable dinner and overnight stay.

Day
4 & 5
Ruaha to Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve)

What a fantastic day! After a sumptuous breakfast, your guide will pick you up for the journey to Nyerere National Park, however, due to the distance, a smart choice would be to fly between these two regions. We’ll transfer to the airstrip and fly to Nyerere National Park, where your expert Genegio Tours and Safari guides will meet you and lead you to the lodge/camp for a delicious lunch. After lunch, you will have the time of your life riding a boat along the Rufiji River. This is a completely different experience and a significant departure from the days of game drives.

There are two sorts of boat rides in the park: short safari journeys along the Rufiji River outside the reserve at dusk or sunrise and full-day boat safaris where you can view elephants bathing or crossing the river. Enjoy a sundowner while watching the herds of wildlife come down to drink at the river. A birder’s delight, with fish eagles, herons, Egyptian geese, storks, bee-eaters, and kingfishers in abundance. After all the experiences you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay

Day 6
Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve)

Fill your two full days at Nyerere National Park with game drives and extraordinary activities. Your two days at Nyerere will not be considered complete unless you engage in one of the guided walking tours and discover the park’s magical charms. You will get an opportunity to enjoy an up-close encounter with Mother Nature as you appreciate the enchantress and calmness of this remote but beautiful park. After a sumptuous breakfast in your lodge, you will spend the day on safari in Nyerere National Park. The Rufiji River, with various lakes and estuaries, runs through the park.

The lakes attract animals, while predators wait in the thicket nearby, making game viewing interesting. Game drives, bush walks, catch-and-release fishing, and boat safaris are among the activities available in the park. In the afternoon, you will eat lunch in one of the approved spots while admiring the park’s breathtaking vistas. Later in the afternoon, you’ll embark on an afternoon wildlife drive and, as the sun sets, you’ll enjoy sundowners with your guide and fellow guests, followed by a delicious dinner and overnight.

Day
7 & 8
Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve) to Dar es Salaam

After a magnificent breakfast, we will drive back to Dar es Salaam airport, where we will bid you farewell and hope you had an unforgettable experience throughout the tour. Never forget to say goodbye and that you’re always welcome back.
