Full Itinerary

Arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport

Once you arrive at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam, you will be greeted by one of our Genegio tour experts and driven to your booked hotel in Dar es Salaam for dinner and overnight. Enjoy the nice weather in Dar es Salaam, relax, and spend the rest of your day as you, please.

Day 1
Dar es salaam to Nyerere National Park

Following a delectable breakfast in your hotel, your guide will pick you up and bring you to Nyerere National Park with your packed lunch boxes. The route follows the Great Southern Highway to Kibiti Town, where it turns left and heads into Nyerere. When you arrive at Nyerere National Park, you will stop for a picnic lunch and some rest while admiring the park’s breathtaking vistas.

After lunch and a little rest, you will continue on your afternoon game drive, where you may expect to see elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, hyenas, lions, jackals, and other animals. Later in evening, your guide will drive you to a Nyerere lodge for a tasty dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2
Nyerere National Park

After a hearty breakfast in your lodge, your guide will pick you up and begin your game drive around this remote and unspoiled wildlife area, where you can spot wild dogs, buffalo, African elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, lion, hyenas, and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires trained eyes to spot. You will return to the lodge for lunch and rest in the afternoon.

After lunch, we’ll go canoeing on the Rufiji River and wildlife, the tour will be led by an armed ranger. Expect to encounter hippos, crocodiles, frogs, and other water wildlife on this excursion. Birds abound in the park, including bee-eaters along the river walls, pelicans, Ibises, and many others. Enjoy a stunning sunset by the Rufiji River before returning to your resort for a delicious meal and an overnight stay.

Day 3
Nyerere National Park to Mikumi National Park

After a delectable breakfast at your lodge, your guide will pick you up for an early departure to Mikumi National Park, where you will drive via villages and local farms until you reach Morogoro town. After arriving in Morogoro town, you will stop for lunch and a little relaxation before continuing to Mikumi for a game drive. Mikumi National Park is one of the Southern Tanzania parks that border Nyerere National Park, allowing animals to roam freely between the two locations.

Expect to see herds of African elephants, buffalo, giraffes, wildebeest, lions, hyenas, jackals, and a variety of antelopes. This park also has many bird species, both aquatic and forest birds. After the day’s activities, your guide will drive you back to your lodge for a delicious dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4
Mikumi National Park

On this day, you will depart early for a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park. Observe many animals in the morning, including elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and possibly lions on the road as they try to avoid the morning mist. Other nocturnal animals return from a long night of hunting. Following your morning game drive, you will return to the lodge for a delicious breakfast and some rest before continuing your morning game drive.

After a few hours, your guide will pick you up and you will continue with your game drive until midafternoon when you will take a lunch break and some rest before going on your afternoon game drive till sunset. Later in the evening, your guide will drive you back to your lodge for a delicious meal and overnight stay.

Day 5
Mikumi to Ruaha National Park

Today is indeed a beautiful morning! After a delicious breakfast, your guide will pick you up from the lodge and drive you to Ruaha National Park. When you get to Ruaha National Park, your guide will take you to one of the designated picnic spots for a picnic lunch and some rest.

Ruaha is most pristine, and little-explored national park. Unlike the Northern Tanzania Park, Ruaha provides a one-of-a-kind safari experience due to its beautiful terrain and abundance of species. It is a park with massive elephant herds. After several hours, you will arrive at the cottage, where you will be served a delicious dinner and will spend the night.

Day 6
Ruaha National Park

After a hearty breakfast at your lodge, your guide will pick you up for an early morning game drive at the remote Ruaha to see nocturnal predators returning from a night of hunting or lionesses preparing for a morning hunt, while other animals emerge from their hiding places to begin a new day in the wild Serengeti. You may see enormous herds of African elephants, a large pride of lions, and uncommon wild dogs. Giraffes, buffalo, wildebeest, jackals, hyenas, leopards, and a variety of antelopes are among the other animals.

In the afternoon, you will stop for a picnic lunch at one of the authorized sites while admiring the park’s breathtaking vistas. After lunch, you will continue your afternoon game drive for bird watchers. Ruaha is fantastic. This park is home to secretary birds, ostriches, herons, ducks, and other woodland species. The Ruaha River and its tributaries are the park’s primary water sources. After a full day of thrills, your guide will transport you to the lodge for a splendid dinner and overnight stay.

7& 8
Ruaha to Zanzibar

What an exquisite day! Following a delectable breakfast, your guide will pick you up and transfer you to the airstrip, where you will board your aircraft to Zanzibar Island. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, you will be met by one of our guide and driven to a lodge. Rest and enjoy the wonderful breeze of the islands before embarking on your excursions in the next day.

Day 9
Zanzibar Beach

What a delightful sensation to be awakened by the sound of the morning wind! After a delicious breakfast at your lodge, your guide will pick you up and transport you to one of Zanzibar’s beaches for the day. You can participate in a water sport such as snorkeling, fishing with locals, diving, or other water sports if you would like.

Day 10
& 11
Stone Town and Spice Tour

The best is usually reserved for last! Your guide will pick you up and drive you to Stone Town after a delicious breakfast in your lodge. On the way, you’ll undertake our famous spice tour, which takes you to local farms and plantations where you can explore, touch, and even taste the majority of the spices grown in this area. Our knowledgeable guide will provide you with in-depth information on how they develop and their applications in cooking, cosmetics, and medicine.

Later, you will sample some of the season’s tropical fruits before we invite you to lunch in one of the homes, where you will be able to enjoy some of the Zanzibar cuisine cooked with spices. In the afternoon, you will be taken to a historical Stone Town for cultural exploration. After the day’s activities, your guide will drive you to your Stone Town lodge for a hearty dinner and overnight.

Day 12
Departure
